What is Affiliate Marketing ?

Affiliate Marketing  basically means you become a middle man between the company or product and the customer. You direct the customer to that company or product and gain a commission if they buy or join. How do you do that? Well, buy advertising your affiliate links, which are given to you by the company you join. Your links lead the customer to your landing page or the companies website. Obviously the more traffic you send the more chance of making money.

Affiliate Marketing Techniques Overview

These are some of the methods I employ to make money on line. There are more such as email advertising and free lists  that I personally don’t use but many people do.

Blogs

Create a  Free blog at Word press.com if you’ve blogged before or blogger.com if not.  Both are easy to set up, free and and you’ll have fun learning new things. Give a lot of thought about content and title and keywords (SEO) which will help  a lot. To begin with some people make a personal blog about themselves and their experience with their chosen affiliate marketing  program or just about different opportunities.  Obviously there are millions of blogs out there so how do you differentiate yourself from the rest? Well first you must ensure your blog is SEO maximized and has plenty of links  and back links. The more the merrier as this raises your visibility on search engines such as Google.Search engines love fresh content so don’t set it up and then leave it to rot.Go to the training page to see how to create a Word press blog. Obviously once you’ve created your new domain name at Go daddy or wherever, you’ll need a host. I generally use Lunar Pages or GVO.

Article writing

Article writing is a great way to advertise for free, create links for your blog and generate a lot of free traffic to your blog or links. Articles don’t have to be highbrow or intellectual, just 3rd person accounts of your chosen topic. Most article sites will reject you anyway if your article is overtly selling something. Have a look at some of the articles on this site to get an idea. As I said writing articles is free and submitting them is also free to article sites such as Enzine articles.com. It really boils down yo keywords and numbers. If you use Keywords that lots of people are looking for then you will generate a lot of traffic, if not then the opposite is true. The more articles you release the better the chances of higher traffic.

Tip:Heres an example, I wrote an article recently that has received 50 views on Enzine articles and 30 people have clicked through to my blog. Of the 30 that clicked through to my blog only 6 clicked the affliliate link.So what I do now is I release my articles through an article submission service that turns my 1 article into 3 different article by changing certain words and release between 800 and 1000 articles. So you can see multiply the first examples numbers by 1000 and that’s a lot of traffic to your blog. Tip, this one of the main reasons for my success, however you have to pay for this service. So start writing articles and submitting them manually at first and when you see some progress and  you feel more confident try my article submitter by clicking on the peel away in the top right hand corner.

PPC Advertising

Pay-per-click advertising is the placement of a small  text ad on the search results page of Google for example, for a specific keyword or keywords.  You pay only a pre agreed sum when a visitor actually clicks on the ad .  The term pay per click means just what it says i.e. the advertiser pays each time a visitor clicks on the ad. This is a very effective way to build residual income and down line, however it can be both expensive and in affective if you don’t know what you’re doing. You’ll have to learn about keywords, landing /splash pages otherwise your quality score will be poor and your campaign will be innefective. That’s why it’s important learn as much as possible before trying this approach.

Traffic exchanges.

Traffic exchanges allow you to advertise your links for free in exchange for clicking on other adverts. So it’s kind of a swap deal. Generally traffic exchanges have a low conversion rate and to be honest are very boring but they are free. I still use traffic exchanges but it’s important to create a splash page to differentiate yourself from the crowd as there will be a lot of affiliate pages floating around just like yours. My advice is use easyhits4u which has a free link rotator which allows you to insert all your links under one URL and therefore only have to promote one link and not many and makes life easier. You can also make 3 free splash pages there. You can join as many as you want but it’s very time consuming.

Free ad Sites

There is a multitude of free sites out there from well known ones such as Craigslist to lesser known ones. Just be careful not to come across to spammy and you should be ok.  As always these site are only effective if your ad is effective.

Press Releases

It sounds more important than it really is. Effectively like articles with a slightly different format. It helps if the “news” is genuine and must be written in the 3rd person and not be blatantly selling. However it’s a very effective way to generate traffic to you blog and links. I was put off by the name to begin with, but I promise you it’s  really easy besides most press release services give you a free guide, so you can’t go wrong. Again there are many out there, probably my favorites is free press release.com.

Forums

Forum are free and one of the best learning resources on the internet. They allow you to put a link in your blog link in your signature (usually not affiliate link) and you can often pick up free traffic by just genuinely participating  where you can. If I’m honest I think I picked up 80% of my knowledge on forums. My favorites are Warrior forum.com and the one I participate the most in is the
Acme Forum.
